As we search for the 36th cohort of the Milken Scholars Program, we extend our deepest gratitude to all applicants, counselors, and recommenders who worked hard to put together each application.
Since 1989, the Program has sought Scholars who exemplify its pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. With the help of 300 high schools, we received over 2,200 nominations from New York City, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles County; thus, setting a new record for the Milken Scholars Program!
In October 2023, schools were invited to nominate up to 15 of their top candidates to apply to the Milken Scholars Program. Nominated students worked hard compiling transcripts, letters of recommendation, information about their extracurriculars and community service as they put into words their experiences and hopes for the future.
As we continue evaluating applications, we are honored to learn from candidates’ exceptional and wide-ranging stories. Thank you to the teachers, counselors, principals, and school representatives who invested time and energy, not only throughout this application process, but also throughout students’ lives to help form such remarkable individuals.
In what can be an exciting yet anxious period of waiting, we wish all 2024 high school seniors the best of luck on their future endeavors. We look forward to inviting selected Scholars into the Milken Scholars Family in the coming months. Stay tuned for future announcements welcoming our newest cohort.
