Biography
After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard in 2001, Aleksey earned a PhD in theoretical physics from University of California, Berkeley in spring 2007. He has published two papers on using string theory to study various properties of black holes physics, including things like entropy bounds and the holographic principle. Upon graduation, he had decided to pursue a career in business. He spent two years as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in San Francisco where he consulted on strategic and operational projects in a variety of industries. In November 2009 Aleksey made the move to the high-tech industry to work for Juniper Networks, spending 3 years in Corporate Strategy and then moved to the role of Director of Product Line Management for a software product that provides commercial network virtualization services. In January 2016, he made the transition to Microsoft in the role of Director of Investment Strategy - where he currently works. As a result, after 15 years in the Bay Area, he and his family picked up from sunny California to relocate to the rainy Pacific Northwest - the Seattle area. He and his wife Victoriya are the proud parents of two kids - Andrew Daniel Mints born in 2010 and Elizabeth Sadie Mints born in 2013.
