Biography
Amira works as a policy researcher at the U.S. Senate Joint Economic Committee. Prior, Amira taught English as a national Fulbright Scholar and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Urban Studies and Political Science. Currently, she is completing her Master of Science in Social Policy. Amira is deeply passionate about economic justice for historically marginalized people and committed to engaging with data-driven social policy reforms to address structural inequalities. Amira’s previous research experiences range across various state and federal agencies, where she engaged with social action through focused policy research. Amira is interested in addressing inequities at the intersections of labor, gender, and race. She looks forward to an exciting career in public service, working at the intersections of policy research and legal aid to uplift the cause of working people.
