Biography
Originally from Hickory, North Carolina, Benjamin (Ben) Dormus is a 2017 graduate of School Without Walls Senior High School in Washington, D.C., a 2021 graduate of Yale College with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, and will be a 2025 graduate of Duke University Divinity School with a Master of Arts in Christian Practice. Ben currently resides in Philadelphia where he is a paralegal for Community Legal Services on the social security disability team. Ben is a proud labor organizer and union member and serves on the board of directors for the Institute for Christian Socialism and in national leadership for the Democratic Socialists of America. Ben is also a member two fraternal organizations for black men: Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. and the Institute for Responsible Citizenship.
