Luigi Auquilla Idrovo

Biography

Luigi Auquilla is a senior at the NYU College of Arts and Science, where he is a part of the Presidential Honors Scholars Program. Hailing from Harlem in New York City, he studies political science, being admitted to the honors program for the department where he studied housing discrimination in the New York City rental market. He will be pursuing a Master's in Public Policy and Management at King's College London in the fall.

A long-time debater, he is the co-treasurer of the NYU Cross Examination Debate Association, where he notably finished as the second placed speaker and semi-finalist at the CEDA Northeast Regional Championship in 2022. He is a recipient of the NYU DURF Research Grant for his work on housing discrimination and was selected to represent NYU at the 74th Annual SCUSA Conference.

Aside from his academic life, he is an orchestral violinist (1st Violinist) with the New York Sessions Symphony and enjoys playing competitive soccer and volleyball. This semester, he is working at Gibney, Anthony, & Flaherty, LLP in their Intellectual Property Law Research group as well as the Constituent Services Intern at the Office of New York City Council Member Shaun Abreu.
