Ruwanthi (Ru) Ekanayake

Biography

Ruwanthi “Ru” Ekanayake is a graduate of Cornell, where she studied biology and global health, and Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in Los Angeles. She is a published poet and accomplished pianist and holds a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo. The summer after her sophomore year, Ru interned at the Prostate Cancer Foundation in Santa Monica. The summer after her freshman year, she interned at Molina Heathcare's department of policy and planning in Los Angeles. She has also worked with the Cornell Health administration to improve student utilization of medical services.
