Biography
Based in NYC, Shahla helps lead Google's human rights program on the Government Affairs and Public Policy team. She previously worked for the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in Afghanistan on conservation and intangible heritage projects and for international nonprofits and organizations like the World Bank, Oxfam, CARE and others. She received her master's in sociology and anthropology from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, and she earned her bachelor's degree in political science and philosophy from Yale University. She sits on the board of the Arab American Family Support Center. Shahla is a trained pro-bono doula and the co-founder of Kolba, a nonprofit supporting Afghan refugees resettling in the United States.
