Biography
Taylor Chavez served in the Peace Corps as a Public Health Educator in Guinea. She graduated in June of 2018 from Stanford University where she earned a degree in bioengineering. During her sophomore, junior, and senior years at Stanford, Taylor worked as a bioengineering undergraduate researcher various laboratories across the campus. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from Duke University in Biomedical Engineering. Taylor’s PhD thesis work is centered around the inclusion of sex as a biological variable and including women in cardiovascular research. Taylor uses vascular tissue engineering principles and techniques to model female and male microvasculature to investigate sex-based differences.
