During the spring and summer of 2023, many people asked me what my upcoming plans were, which was to be expected as I was graduating from college. However, when I responded with the unexpected, that I was leaving America to study abroad in Taiwan for several months, they would react with a slightly alarmed, slightly amused look. Their surprise was twofold.

In February 2024, I traveled to Guatemala and explored the relationship between the country's natural environment and its Indigenous peoples, not only in Native communities' conservation work, but also in how nature influences Guatemalan culture.

At the beginning of this year, I wrote about my experiences traveling through Taiwan, particularly regarding my observations on its approach to innovation and my first-hand experience with one of its most innovative startups. This past February, I had the opportunity to travel again in Asia, this time to India, one of the most entrepreneurial countries in the world.

March 2024 will be a watershed moment in how I experience the world. My first trip to Asia with fellow Milken Scholar, Yalie and educator Marisol Leon opened up my mind to new adventures and new ways of seeing the role of government in supporting a country’s growth. While we took advantage of the opportunity to eat delicious food and sight see, throughout the trip we took time to learn about Education in Vietnam and Singapore.

The Seine winds through the heart of Paris, carrying centuries of history and culture. People stroll, boats tour, and buildings look out onto this iconic waterway. The Seine embodies Parisian charm. Paris plans for the river Seine will get its moment to shine on the world stage with the upcoming Olympics. City officials are hoping for the swimming leg of the triathlon event to take place in the Seine. However, there are issues with Paris’s water management that currently make the river unsafe to swim in.

Throughout my trip in Bangladesh, I worked for my nonprofit Efforts in Youth Development of Bangladesh (EYDB). We are currently working on a project in Khulna, Bangladesh, related to quality education and sustainable entrepreneurship. We are building a school for 40 slum children who currently do not have acess to quality education.
