Biography
Delaram earned her B.A. from UCLA in 2014, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Latin. As a pre-law student, she interned at Chakmakis & Associates, competed as a member of UCLA's varsity Mock Trial team, held office in the Executive Board of Kappa Alpha Pi Pre-Law Fraternity, and served as the Vice President of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honors Society. During her four years at UCLA, she was also the senior intern at the global office of Starlight Children's Foundation. After college, she worked as a Legal Intern for the ACLU Jails Project in LA County. She then went on to UCLA School of Law, where she competed on the Mock Trial team, worked as the Prison Law Fellow, participated in criminal justice-related clinics and organizations, and founded the CALL Festival, a three-day criminal justice and arts festival hosted at UCLA centered around ending mass incarceration. She was named the Criminal Justice Award recipient upon graduation by the Criminal Law faculty. Delaram passed the July 2019 California Bar Exam and now works as a Deputy Public Defender for the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s office.

Planting Seeds of Kindness: Delaram Kamalpour, MS '10, was nominated by the Public Defender's Office to receive the LA County Volunteer of the Year Award.
Think and Act Globally: Following her graduation from UCLA, Delaram Kamalpour, MS ‘10, has joined the Peace Corps and will begin a two-year deployment to Georgia in Eastern Europe this April.
