Scholar Profile
Ruiquan "Johnny" Jin
Education Management
Biography
Johnny is proud to be working for the advancement of children's education. He is working as the Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Entrepreneurial Ventures in Education, a nonprofit whose mission is to improve the educational outcomes for children living in poverty. As a core member of the founding team, Johnny was instrumental in growing a summer program into a national school management organization that is now one of the largest nonprofit turnaround operators in the country. He designed the framework of a new blended learning model that reimagines the school day through the creative use of collaborative teaching and adaptive technology; a model that attracted the support of the Gates Foundation and Charter School Growth Fund. While the vast majority of students served by EVE live below the poverty line, they experience some of the highest growth in their academic achievement in their home district and state. Johnny holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from UC Berkeley (which he earned in two years) and a Master’s Degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard.
